The purple heather looked beautiful on Grinton Moor this year, but it is over now and Autumn is here.
Possibly my favourite season, autumn is the time when the next novel starts to take shape. Each summer I stop publicising my latest book to work on the plot of the new one, when I can do much of my ‘plotting’ outdoors. But when the days shorten, I really concentrate on getting my thoughts on paper – or rather, into the laptop. I am working on the second novel in the DI Miriam Abbott series, following the Regional Unsolved Crime Unit on another case that has beaten the local force. I can reveal that this time they are focussing on a farm near Bedale.
